Wilmer Fawcett and
Canada's Salon Music Sensation
For twenty years, Viveza, Canada's premier salon music group, has been arranging and performing the delightful repertoire of miniatures by the great composers from Brahms to Piazzolla, with a dash of Spanish music and Tango. The name Viveza is Spanish for "lively, vivacious", and the musicians, who play symphony and opera and teach in academy and conservatory, come together in Viveza for the joy of making their own music.
With six best-selling CDs to their name, heard regularly on CBC's Disc Drive and other national programs, Viveza has reached a wide audience of Canadian listeners coast to coast.
Viveza has toured from Victoria BC to the Gaspé, from Whitehorse to Southern California, and tours frequently in BC and Ontario. Viveza has appeared at the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto and in Ottawa at the National Library and the National Gallery. Summer festival tours have included Expo 93 in Korea and Juneau Jazz and Classics in Alaska, the Stratford Festival and Music at Sharon, and return engagements at the Parry Sound Festival, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival and the Acadian Festival in Caraquet, New Brunswick.
